Endnight Games’ survival game The Forest has sold over 5.3 million copies in four years, a milestone that comes just ahead of the game’s PlayStation 4 release this week.
The Forest first released on PC through Steam’s Early Access program back in 2014. The game emerged from Early Access with its official 1.0 version back in April 2018, and soon after received a VR mode that made the entirety of the game playable in virtual reality.
In a press release, Endnight stated that the game was developed on an initial budget of $125,000. Regardless of Steam’s cut of the pie and the occasional sale, it looks like The Forest has been an overwhelming success for the small studio. Endnight added that an update in December will bring a new creature and weapon type to The Forest, on top of new buildable and clothing items. Regardless, it looks like plenty of players aren't finding The Forest to be a wooden experience. If you need Buy The Forest CD Key, you can visit our site z2u.com.
The creepy, improvisational PC title, which has only recently seen release on PS4, sees players attempt to survive on a remote peninsula after a plane crash, using whatever can be scavenged to provide food, shelter, and healthcare, while also defending against a strange band of cannibalistic mutants that roam the territory.
No word yet if the game will be making its way to the Xbox One, but players can probably assume that a version for the console is in the works. OnlySP was one of the very first outlets to report on The Forest all the way back when the game first entered the scene in 2013 and to see now that the game has sold over 5 million copies is pretty mind boggling. |
