Now that players have had a month and a half to get used to World of Warcraft as it was in late 2004, it’s time to scootch forward to early 2005. Today’s first major update to World of Warcraft Classic adds the three-part Dire Maul dungeon, filed with Ogres, elves, and assorted evil.
Dire Maul is a 5-man level 56-60 classic dungeon that was first introduced back in vanilla. In WoW Classic, Dire Maul was released on 15th October (2019) during phase 2 of Blizzard’s content release plan. As for the actual dungeon, it is a massive ancient city that now lies in ruins and is occupied primarily by ogres.
Dire Maul’s early release suggests that Blizzard is not above swapping around WoW Classic release dates if people are tearing through content quickly. That means we can’t completely rely on the time frames we’ve been working with. Right now, we know that the rest of Phase 2 is due out by the end of the year, but that doesn’t mean other parts of it could go live even before that patch. By the way, you can buy Cheap WOW Gold Classic from 5mmo.com, where you can enjoy a 3% discount by using the code “5MMO”.
Anyone playing the original game should be happy with this announcement, though. Dire Maul includes a ton of new loot, a set of trinkets for each class, Mages’ Rank 7 of Conjure Water, and other class quest necessities. It’s an important dungeon to have around for anyone looking to complete some of the game’s important quest lines and (imagined) achievements. Thankfully, you can get started on this a little bit early.
The new update also adds epic mounts for warlocks and paladins starting at level 60. Warlocks will have the chance to complete quests for the Dreadsteed of Xoroth epic mount, while paladins can earn the Charger epic mount. Whatever your class, Dire Maul has a lot going on to keep you occupied and solid-enough loot and other rewards to make your time worthwhile. |
