Not long after the release of the Square Enix Security Token, the tactics of players with malicious intent have shifted to a more direct means of phishing, which has caught the attention of the Play Online center about
Ffxi Gil.
The following warning was issued to players in an attempt to drive home the advice that you should never heed the call of anyone in game to provide your Play Online ID and password. Take extra caution in game and immediately question any such request. It has come to our attention that certain individuals are contacting
FINAL FANTASY XI GIL player in-game, and referring them to fake websites resembling the log-in page of the official Linkshell Community site. The fraudulent site directs players to enter their Play Online ID and password, with the intent of using the collected information to compromise the account. We are currently investigating and working to take the appropriate actions against these malicious websites about
Ffxi Gil.
Be careful with your information so as not to become a victim of "phishing." Do not disclose your Play Online ID or password to anyone or attempt to log-in anywhere other than the official
FINAL FANTASY XI GIL Linkshell Community and Play Online website.
The only exception is when dealing directly with a Play Online Information Center representative via the Play Online Service & Support Web Chat system about
Ffxi Gil. You may be asked for your Play Online ID or registration code in such cases. Also, please note that no Square Enix representative (Game Master (GM) staff included) will ever ask you to provide your Play Online ID or password from within the game or via e-mail. If you experience such a request while in-game, please contact a GM to report it.
