Warframe, the free-to-play game released in 2013, has gone from strength to strength. Digital Extremes initially launched the game on PC, before bringing it to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and then finally to the Nintendo Switch in November of 2018. With Tenno playing across four different platforms, you might be wondering if the game supports Crossplay.

While Warframe is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, the game does not support any kind of crossplay support. Despite the community’s wish for crossplay to become a major feature of the free-to-play, space ninja adventure, Digital Extremes has yet to establish any kind of official support for the feature.

Of course, it’s still something they are working on along the way, and it’s possible we might see crossplay support at some point down the line. For now, though, you’ll need to be on the same platform as the people that you want to party up with, which could be a bit of a hindrance for some.

Another big feature that many members of the community have been asking for is cross-save, the ability to move your save file from one platform to the other. For those that wish to play with multiple groups of friends across two or more platforms, cross-save would be a vital feature in being able to move seamlessly across Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, or Nintendo Switch, as it would bring all of your account info over. Unfortunately, Warframe does not currently support cross-save. In fact, there isn’t even currently a way to move one account from a platform to another, so if you want to play on a different platform, you’ll need to start over completely.

There is a very small silver lining… You can migrate your in-game account exactly once. That means most of the progress you make in one version of the game is free to transfer to another version. However, since the versions are so out of sync, you can’t just continue going back and forth over and over again. That sort of “cross save,” seen in Destiny 2, would be great.
