EVE ISK-Hilmar Petursson
One of the worlds leading independent game developers and creator of the critically acclaimed massively multiplayer online game (MMO) EVE Online Isk, has been recognized for its remarkable year-over-year growth by being ranked on the Media Momentums Larger Companies List 2009 and receiving a Media Momentum Award. The Media Momentum Awards honor the hottest and fastest growing digital media companies in Europe as judged by European digital media industry luminaries about EVE Online Isk. The industry recognition follows EVE Onlines subscriber base topping 300,000 as the game celebrated its sixth anniversary on May 6, 2009. To support continued in-game growth and creative development of EVE Online Isk, CCP is also increasing its headcount, recruiting top industry talent for about 60 positions over the course of 2009. Hilmar Petursson, accepted the companys Media Momentum Award for "Vision and Future Growth Potential" and attended at an invitation-only awards dinner on May 13, 2009 in London. Said Petursson: "CCP is honored to receive this award as it validates our earliest plans of the future for EVE Online¡ªa true virtual society that has a real sense of history and intrigue between players.
Honored patriots, we have achieved true greatness in such a short time. Our challenge now is to maintain this momentum. Our brave capsuleers will face a bitter enemy eager to enact reprisals against our liberated worlds about Eve Isk. We must stay vigilant, for we know not when or where they will strike. Yet it serves us well to honor their momentous achievement-the complete dominance of Federation naval forces in the warzone systems of Essence, Verge Vendor, Placid, The Citadel, and Black Rise-for it has established the legacy of the capsuleer for time immemorial about Eve Isk. |
